Fancy Coloured Diamonds Hot Sellers at Heritage Auction in Jewellery Sales of US$ 5 Million

Fancy coloured diamonds were among the best sellers at the three day sale of jewellery and luxury accessories conducted by Heritage Auctions, New York. Both loose stones and coloured diamond jewellery were in demand. The auction generated revenues of US$ 8.8 million, with about US$ 5 million being generated by the sale of jewellery and loose diamonds.

Draft of Gold Monetisation Scheme Released by Government

The Government of India yesterday released a draft of the Gold Monetisation Scheme, a proposal earlier mooted by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in the Budget Session of Parliament this year. The draft is open to comments from stakeholders till June 2, 2015.

Lulo’s Fourth Parcel Sale Raises A$2.9 Mn at Average Price of A$1870/ct

Lucapa Diamond Company Limited announced that the fourth parcel from its Lulo Diamond Concession in Angola sold for gross proceeds of A$ 2.9 million. The 1,539 carat parcel achieved an average price of A$1,870/carat (US$1,500), which the company called “exceptional”, as it is “more than 12 times the average global diamond sale price of US$120/carat”.
