1. Tribal Integrated Development & Education Trust (TIDE)

Our country has over 120 million tribals living in approx. 135,000 villages. There are 537 different tribes and Sub-tribes, each having their own unique and beautiful culture, language, costume, food habits, thinking etc. Being poor and illiterate these innocent tribals have been exploited for hundreds of years.

TIDE was formed by a group of 10 likeminded friends in 2003 for the upliftment of the poor and needy tribal people. First four years the progress was slow as the work was in very remote places in different states. Gradually the work has expanded and now TIDE has projects in 16 states. Since last three years TIDE has also started working with the Mushar (rat eaters) community in Bihar. Mushars are a very poor and neglected community which falls under mahadalit category.

Project Area

The work covers +5000 villages in following states:

The biggest projects are in the states of Assam (1800 villages) and Gujarat (800 villages). Whenever more funds become available, TIDE expands its projects to the remaining needy areas.

The project was started by diamond merchant friends. Gradually, more donors from diamond and other industries joined.

While all the donors contribute equally each year, Mr. Ashok Bhansali (Partner, Bhansali & Co and Trustee, Bhansali Trust) looks after the project full time.

2. Shrimad Rajchandra Love & Care (SRLC)

Shrimad Rajchandra Love and Care is an initiative of Shrimad Rajchandra Mission Dharampur to offer service and bring joy to the lives of the underserved sections of society. Inspired by Shrimad Rajchandraji and guided by Pujya Gurudevshri Rakeshbhai, this NGO’s holistic, multi-pronged community support and development programmes are powered by genuine empathy, love and care of highly motivated volunteers.

Pujya Gurudevshri says, “Dharma is not complete without seva, and seva is not pure without dharma.”

Shrimad Rajchandra Love and Care is constantly striving to deliver high quality, charitable and sustainable initiatives for the welfare of mankind, animals and the environment. The initiatives, managed by selfless volunteers, are spread over 50 cities worldwide, with the primary focus being on the upliftment of one of the poorest rural areas of India, in South Gujarat. In this area of South Gujarat, the NGO runs a charity hospital, a centre for the physically challenged, two schools, a science college, a skill development centre, an animal shelter home, amongst over 50 other social initiatives. A new 250 bed charity hospital is presently being built to serve the growing needs of the less privileged population of South Gujarat.
