GJEPC organised the first-ever session on “How to Enhance Productivity in Jewellery Manufacturing” under its UNCUT 2020 Workshop series, conducted by renowned jewellery technology expert Dr. Parag Vyas. The dynamic and interactive session was attended by more than 115 participants from different sections of the jewellery sector, who were keen to enhance their efficiency in jewellery manufacturing.
Dr. Vyas is a pioneer in jewellery manufacturing & technology. He has trained toolmakers, trainers and managers in companies like Titan in addition to conducting numerous workshops and authoring in scientific journals on jewellery.
The workshop started with the opening remarks by Mr. K. Srinivasan, Jewellery Panel Convener, GJEPC. He emphasised that by using right tools, automation and mechanisation, manufacturers can cut production costs in jewellery manufacturing. This can help in achieving high quality finish and perfection; and experiment with newer designs that can cater to the changing taste of the customer.
Dr. Parag K. Vyas, through his lucid presentation, discussed about jewellery manufacturing tools, their upkeep, signature, and more. He gave tips for usage and maintenance of tools to increase their efficacy and life, which, in turn, would reduce manufacturing costs, and improve efficiency by 20% to 30%.
The lively session that continued for more than an hour, ended with the participants getting an assignment from Dr. Vyas.
