The International Institute of Gemology (IIG) held its 29th Convocation Ceremony in Mumbai on 30th June, 2023 to honour the exceptional achievements of graduating students in the field of gems and jewellery. The event was attended by notable guests such as Dr. Rajendra Jain, Managing Director of Svar Group, Lalit Jain of Chandan Agencies, and Rajesh Bajaj of Heera Zhaveraat.
Rahul Desai, CEO & MD of IIG, delivered opening speech, emphasising the importance of lifelong learning and adaptability in today’s rapidly changing world. The keynote speech by chief guest Nilesh Chhabria, COO of Finestar Diamonds, touched upon various key themes such as provenance, traceability, blockchain technology, innovation, and the power of education.
During the convocation, 114 students were felicitated with certificates, signifying the successful completion of various programs offered by IIG. Seven outstanding students were also recognised with special trophies for their exceptional skills and dedication in their respective fields. The ceremony concluded with the launch of the IIG Alumni Club, aimed at fostering a strong network of professionals and providing ongoing support to the institute’s graduates.
