Govt. Increases Duty Drawback Rates for Gold & Silver Jewellery to Support Exporters

The Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance has revised the duty drawback rates for precious metal jewellery under Notification No. 67/2025-Customs (N.T.), dated 27th October 2025.

As per the amendment, the duty drawback rate for gold jewellery has been increased to ₹524.27 per gram, while that for silver jewellery and articles has been revised to ₹6,317.22 per kilogram.

The revision aims to provide relief to Indian gems and jewellery exporters, who are facing higher input costs, subdued global demand, and the 50% import tariff imposed by the United States on Indian jewellery. The move is expected to partially offset the impact of these tariffs and help exporters stay competitive internationally.

Duty drawback serves as a refund mechanism that reimburses exporters for customs and excise duties paid on imported inputs used in manufacturing export goods.
