Tell us more about yourself. Are you a first-gen jeweller or do you belong to a family of jewellers?
I come from a lineage of jewellers, being the proud granddaughter of the visionary Mahdi Ali Almajid. My introduction to the world of jewellery began at a young age, as I spent delightful hours in our family’s jewellery shop, selecting exquisite pieces for special occasions and Eid celebrations.
What made you take up jewellery designing? When and where did you hone your skills? And when did you finally establish your brand?
Creativity has always been a foundation of my life; as a child, I was captivated by accessories and had a profound appreciation for art. After completing my higher education, I discovered the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), which opened my eyes to the fascinating world of diamonds and gemstones. This revelation fuelled my desire to learn more, leading me to pursue various courses, including CAD/CAM design. From that point on, the creative process became second nature, allowing ideas to flow effortlessly.
My goal was to establish a brand that resonates with the modern woman, and in 2018, Kaltham’s Pavilion was born.

What inspires your unique jewellery designs?
Nature serves as my primary source of inspiration, drawing from the beauty of flowers and the cosmic stars. This diverse array of influences allows me to design with various gemstones, creating unique palettes that reflect the essence of each collection.
What is your creative process when designing a new collection?
My creative journey begins with sketching ideas on paper, which often leads to an abundance of innovative concepts. As I sketch, I refine my gemstone palette, carefully selecting colours and shapes that will complement the motifs of the collection.

Can you share the story behind one of your most cherished creations?
One of my most treasured creations is the Lily of the Valley Tiara, designed to double up as a necklace. This piece was crafted for a beautiful bride, making it a special symbol of love and elegance.
How do you ensure the highest level of craftsmanship in your jewellery?
I prioritise quality by collaborating with top-notch manufacturers renowned for their expertise. I also inspect each item upon receipt to ensure that it meets the highest standards of craftsmanship.

What sets Kaltham’s Pavilion apart from other luxury jewellery brands?
At Kaltham’s Pavilion, I strive to create pieces that symbolise femininity and softness, qualities that I believe are often overlooked in the luxury jewellery sector. While many prominent brands are male-designed, I embrace the shift towards more feminine and personal jewellery, positioning myself as a part of this evolution.
Can you tell us more about the materials you use and how they contribute to the uniqueness of each piece?
I love experimenting with diverse gemstone combinations and exploring various gold tones, allowing me to create distinctive pieces that reflect individual styles and preferences.

What emotions or experiences do you hope to evoke in those who wear your jewellery? What are the current consumer trends in Qatar in terms of gem cuts, metal, and motifs?
I aspire to evoke joy and personal connection in those who wear my jewellery. The Qatari market is increasingly gravitating towards colourful gemstones, which aligns perfectly with my design philosophy.
Witnessing my customers create personalised pieces brings me immense joy and fulfilment.
Are there any upcoming collections or special projects that you’re excited to share?
I am excited to focus on smaller, curated drops throughout the year, allowing me to offer a wider variety of new items while maintaining a fresh and dynamic collection.
