Al Cook to Attend Angola Ministerial Roundtable on Natural Diamond Promotion

De Beers Group has confirmed that CEO, Al Cook, will attend the Angola Ministerial Roundtable on the Promotion of Natural Diamonds, set to take place in Luanda on 18 June 2025. Hosted by Angola’s Ministry of Mineral Resources, Petroleum and Gas (MIREMPET), the event will host ministers and senior representatives from leading African diamond-producing countries including Botswana, Namibia, South Africa, Sierra Leone and the Democratic Republic of Congo, along with industry bodies like GJEPC, DMCC and AWDC among others.

The goal is to chart a collaborative course for category marketing that strengthens consumer demand for natural diamonds, while reinforcing their socio-economic benefits.

Al Cook said, “We are proud of the beauty of diamonds and the benefits they bring to producing nations, but it’s vital that we inspire consumers with the wonder of these natural miracles. I commend the Angolan Government for taking the initiative to establish this event so that key stakeholders in the diamond industry can come together. I’m looking forward to joining leaders of diamond producing countries and businesses in Luanda so that we can align on a successful shared approach for promoting natural diamonds.”

The roundtable aims to build consensus on promoting the enduring appeal of natural diamonds, ensuring they continue to play a vital role in driving development in producing nations for years to come.
