In a significant step to enhance the expertise of Customs officials in the region, a five-day “Orientation Course in Gems Identification” was successfully concluded at the GJEPC institute, IIGJ Jaipur. The training program, held from 18th to 22nd November 2024, aimed to equip customs officers with the knowledge and skills necessary to accurately identify and assess precious gemstones.
A diverse group of Customs officers, including Assistant Commissioners of Customs, Additional Commissioners of Customs, Superintendents of Customs, Inspectors of Customs, and Preventive Officers, participated in the training. These officers are stationed at key Customs offices in the region, such as ACC-RAJSICO, ACC-JGE, and Jaipur SEZ.
The concluding ceremony of the training program was graced by the presence of Shri Niraj Dubey, Additional Commissioner of Customs, Jaipur; Shri Budhiprakash, Joint Commissioner of Customs, SEZ, Jaipur; and Dr. Nawal Agarwal, Chairman of IIGJ Jaipur. During the ceremony, certificates were awarded to all the participating officers, recognising their successful completion of the course.
