The 4th batch of the one-week Exporter Mentorship Programme (EMP), being conducted by GJEPC from 22nd to 26th September at the India Jewellery Exposition Centre (IJEX) in Dubai, continued its mission of developing exports in the UAE market with a power-packed second day of engaging sessions and immersive visits:
- Handling Your Valuables – Conducted by Team Ferrari Logistics, featuring Mr. Khurshid (12 years of expertise in freight forwarding & logistics for jewellery) and Mr. Silvestar (10 years of experience). The session focused on the safe and efficient handling of jewellery shipments across global markets.
- Market Mechanics in Gold Jewellery – Led by Mr. Sumer Sagar (Yug), who elaborated on how the gold jewellery market functions across different purities (18kt, 21kt, 22kt), highlighting key aspects such as wastage, making charges, and pricing strategies.
- Mall of the Emirates Visit – Delegates explored the high-end retail environment, drawing inspiration from contemporary luxury jewellery designs and consumer trends.
- Gold & Diamond Park Visit – A specialised hub for diamond jewellery in the UAE, catering to Western, European, German, and Russian diaspora markets. Delegates experienced the vibrancy of this niche market and gathered valuable design and business insights.
Day 2 of the EMP reaffirmed IJEX Dubai’s role as a bridge for Indian exporters to access the UAE and larger GCC market and expand their global footprint.
