The second day of the fifth batch of the Exporter Mentorship Programme (EMP) being conducted by GJEPC at IJEX, Dubai from 6th to 10th October 2025, continued to deepen delegates’ understanding of the international jewellery business landscape.
Day 2 Highlights
Debriefing of Day 1: The day began with a debriefing session where delegates shared their key learnings and experiences from Day 1. This interactive discussion helped consolidate their understanding and set the tone for the day’s agenda.
Session: Handling Your Valuables – Ferrari: Delegates attended a session conducted by Ferrari, where they gained valuable insights into the import and export processes of jewellery through freight forwarding. The Q&A session provided them with greater clarity on logistics procedures, documentation requirements, and best practices for secure and efficient jewellery transport.
Market Visit – Mall of the Emirates: Delegates explored the Mall of the Emirates, observing both international luxury jewellery brands and local UAE boutiques. Acting as mystery customers, they studied the market mechanics, customer service standards, and product presentation across various retail formats.
Gold & Diamond Park Visit: The group visited the Gold & Diamond Park, a hub to diamond jewellery retailers. This visit offered the delegates a firsthand look at diverse jewellery designs, pricing structures, and the operational setup of specialized diamond outlets.
Dubai Hills Mall Visit: The final visit of the day was to Dubai Hills Mall, a trending retail destination featuring reputed jewellers. Delegates gained insights into contemporary jewellery trends, including lab-grown diamonds, artistry in design, and the creative inspirations driving modern jewellery collections.
