De Beers Identifies 8 High-Potential Kimberlite Targets in Angola

De Beers said it has made significant strides in its exploration efforts in Angola. The company has identified eight promising kimberlite targets through extensive airborne magnetic surveying.

Al Cook, CEO of De Beers Group, revealed this development at the Angola International Diamond Conference. He noted the positive outcomes of the airborne magnetic surveys conducted across both of the company’s exploration concessions in the country. The surveys have provided crucial data to pinpoint potential diamond-rich areas.

Cook said: “As we continue to put our Origins strategy into action, we are making good progress with our diamond exploration in Angola – the world’s most prospective region for new diamond deposits – and we are very pleased to have already identified eight new high potential kimberlite targets in Angola as a result of our work.

“Alongside this, we are working hard with our partners in Government, both on enhancing the environment for long-term investors in the nation and on making sure we have all the tools in place to realise the socio-economic benefit of diamonds for the country.”
