Gemfields Group Limited closed 2025 with $128.5 million in auction revenues and a net debt position of $39.2 million, as it completed funding for expansion at its flagship ruby operation, according to its operational update to 31 December 2025.
The group said its second processing plant at Montepuez Ruby Mining is in the final commissioning stage and has been delivered materially on budget. First production from the new facility is expected to reach the market at the February 2026 mixed quality ruby auction.
At Kagem Mining, premium emerald recoveries met expectations after focussed mining resumed in May 2025. The company highlighted the recovery of Imboo, an 11,685-carat emerald with intense colour. An added night shift at the upgraded processing plant enabled treatment of historic stockpiles and supported stronger output. Net debt stood at $39.2 million before auction receivables of $20.5 million.
