A delegation from De Beers, led by Ms. Feriel Zerouki, Senior Vice President of Provenance, Ethics, and Industry Relations, visited the GJEPC head office in Mumbai on 9th July. The De Beers team also included Ms. Emma Wade Smith, Global Head of Public Policy and Public Affairs, and Mr. Amit Pratihari, Managing Director of De Beers Forevermark.
The delegation was welcomed by key GJEPC officials: Mr. Vipul Shah, Chairman; Mr. Ajesh Mehta, Convener of the Diamond Panel; Mr. Saunak Parikh, Co-Convener of the Diamond Panel; Mr. Anil Virani, Member of the Diamond Panel; and Mr. Sabyasachi Ray, Executive Director.
The topics of discussion included compliances, movement of rough, the current geopolitical scenario, regulatory challenges, areas for collaboration and so on.
