GJEPC’s Delhi Regional Office in partnership with India Post Delhi Circle, organised an awareness seminar on exporting gems and jewellery through India Post. The event, held at Meghdoot Bhawan near Jhandewalan Metro Station, received an enthusiastic response from 65 industry members.
Key figures, including Mr. Ajay Singh Chauhan, PMG (Mails & BD), Mr. Antarpal Singh Sawhney, Regional Chairman – North, GJEPC, and Mr. Vickey Kumar, DPS (M&BD), participated in this exchange alongside other dignitaries.
In his welcome address, Mr. Chauhan assured attendees of comprehensive export-related guidance from the Postal Department. Mr. Sawhney highlighted the significance of e-commerce for the industry, urging members to embrace digital platforms to reduce costs, expand market reach, and operate round-the-clock.
Mr. Vickey Kumar’s presentation on Dak Niryat Kendras (DNKs) emphasised the cost-effectiveness of postal services for exports compared to private couriers. Additionally, Mr. Dinesh Kumar Sehgal, ME, NDHO, demonstrated a live session on DNKs operations, offering valuable insights.
Col. Akhilesh Kumar Pandey, CPMG, Delhi Circle, acknowledged the specific needs of jewellery exporters and assured that a tailored policy would be developed through further discussions. Mr. Sanjeev Bhatia, Regional Director – North, GJEPC, outlined the Council’s various initiatives, including IIGJ-RLC and IIGJ Delhi.
