GJEPC Informs Bikaner Goldsmiths About PM Vishwakarma Yojana

GJEPC’s Jaipur Regional Office organised a one-day seminar in Bikaner to inform goldsmiths about the Prime Minister Vishwakarma Yojana (PMVKY). The event was jointly hosted by the Ministry of MSME, Government of India, and the District Industries and Commerce Centre, Bikaner.

The seminar, which witnessed the participation of approximately 150-200 goldsmiths, aimed to educate traditional artisans and craftsmen about the scheme launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 17th September 2023. Mr. Tarun Bhatnagar, Assistant Director of MSME from Jaipur, provided detailed information about the scheme’s benefits and eligibility criteria.

Ms. Manju Nain Godara, General Manager of the District Industries Centre, Bikaner, emphasised the state and central government’s commitment to supporting handicraft artisans. She explained how the PM Vishwakarma Yojana aligns with this goal and encouraged goldsmiths to take advantage of the scheme’s opportunities.

In addition to the PM Vishwakarma Yojana, the seminar also featured presentations from industry experts. Mr. Ajay Purohit, Chief Manager, GJEPC, promoted the establishment of a Common Facility Centre (CFC) in the Bikaner region. He highlighted the significance of participating in exhibitions like IIJS Signature, IIJS Tritiya, and IIJS Premiere, and encouraged attendees to explore export opportunities through e-commerce and overseas exhibitions.

Mr. Anish Kappil, Dean, Indian Institute of Gems & Jewellery (IIGJ) Jaipur, shared insights about the PMVKY batches conducted at the Jaipur campus and provided detailed information about the professional programs offered by IIGJ.
