GJEPC Kicks Off 10th Edition of India Rough Gemstones Sourcing Show In Jaipur

The 10th edition of the India Rough Gemstones Sourcing Show (IRGSS) was inaugurated in Jaipur on 27th August by Mr. Neeraj Dubey, Additional Commissioner of Customs, Jaipur in the presence of Mr. K.M. Meena, Assistant Commissioner of Customs, Air Cargo Complex (ACC), Jaipur. The event, organised by GJEPC, brings together leading players in the gemstone industry.

Mr. Nirmal Bardiya, Regional Chairman – Rajasthan, GJEPC, and other industry representatives including Mr. B.N. Gupta, Convener of the Synthetic Stone, Sales to Foreign Tourists & Fashion Jewellery (SS/SFT/FJ) Sub-Committee, GJEPC, and Council Regional Committee Members Mr. Vijay Kedia and Mr. Rambabu Gupta were present at the inauguration.

The show features a wide range of rough emeralds displayed by Zambia-based Kagem Mining Limited, a subsidiary of Gemfields. Mr. Etienne Marvillet, Assistant Director of Product & Sales at Kagem, attended the inauguration and will be in India for the duration of the show.

Speaking about the show, Mr. Vipul Shah, Chairman, GJEPC, said, “It’s gratifying to witness the 10th edition of the India Rough Gemstones Sourcing Show, a milestone that marks the success of an initiative we began during the COVID-19 pandemic to ensure the uninterrupted supply of rough gemstones to our coloured gemstone manufacturers in Jaipur. I am truly thankful to the exhibitors for their continued support. This event plays a crucial role in strengthening the Jaipur coloured gemstone sector, which is a significant contributor to India’s gem and jewellery exports.”

The IRGSS, which will conclude on 14th September, 2024, offers a valuable platform for buyers and sellers to connect and explore business opportunities.
