GJEPC Kolkata Organises Workshop On E-Commerce Exports For Jewellery Manufacturers

The GJEPC Kolkata office, in collaboration with the Ankurhati Gems & Jewellery Mfg. Welfare Association, conducted a workshop on “How to export jewellery through e-Commerce” at Howrah, West Bengal on 6th December, 2023. The workshop was held at the Ankurhati Gems & Jewellery Park, a hub for jewellery manufacturing in the district.

The aim of the workshop was to train and advise the new entrants and budding entrepreneurs of Howrah on how to tap the potential of e-commerce platforms for exporting their jewellery products. The workshop also highlighted the benefits and facilities available for the GJEPC members.

The session was chaired by Pankaj Parekh, Eastern Regional Chairman, who explained the various promotional activities and membership benefits of the Council. Kaushik Ghosh, Asst. Director – Kolkata, GJEPC, spoke on the export potentiality of jewellery manufactured in Howrah district and the future of jewellery exports through the e-commerce platform, as it would enable direct export from manufacturer level to the end customer.

Saurabh Wadhwa, Manager – Jewelry Acquisition, Ebay gave a presentation on the process and procedures involved for onboarding on Ebay marketplace. D. Nath from Foreign Post, India Post, WB Circle, gave a presentation on Dakghar Niryat Kendra (DNK), a service that facilitates e-commerce exports through India Post. Nitin Khandelwal, Dy. Director – Jaipur, GJEPC, explained the opportunities, insights and benefits of e-commerce exports.

The workshop, which was attended by around 50 companies, was followed by a Q&A session, where the participants raised their queries and doubts.
