GJEPC Organised The 2nd Membership Outreach Program In Ahmedabad

After successfully organizing the first membership outreach program in Mumbai, GJEPC held its 2nd such outreach program in Ahmedabad which witnessed participation of more than 170 trade members. The event was organized by GJEPC in association with World Gold Council (WGC) and supported by Jewellers Association Ahmedabad (JAA).

The event was attended by Mr. Sumit Sengar, Head BIS, Ahmedabad, Mr. Mansukh Kothari, Convener, Events, GJEPC, Mr. Somsundaram PR, Regional CEO, World Gold Council, Mr. Jigar Soni, Jewellers Association Ahmedabad (JAA), Mr. Sabyasachi Ray, ED, GJEPC and Mr. Ranjith Singh from BSE. Mr. Ashok Gautam, IIBX joined the program virtually.

Mansukh Kothari, Convener, Events, GJEPC said, “The membership outreach program is an effort to communicate to GJEPC members in an effective and timely manner about the several initiatives that GJEPC is taking for the betterment of the industry. We have around 178 members from Ahmedabad and it’s growing. We want more traders to join GJEPC and take the benefits of being our member. This will help us in our journey to boost gem & Jewellery exports to USD 75 billion in the next few years.”

Speaking on the several initiatives taken by GJEPC, Mr. Sabyasachi Ray, ED, GJEPC said, “Gujarat has always played an important role in achieving our export target over the years and I am sure it will continue to contribute substantially for the growth of the sector. Our goal is to take gem & jewellery exports to US$ 75 billion. To achieve this, we need more and more domestic players to also expand their business by taking up exports. The objective of this meet is to make our trade members understand how GJEPC can help them expand their business.”

Mr. Jigar Soni, President JAA gave a presentation on how Ahmedabad has all it takes to become the next Export Hub of India.

Mr. Sumit Sengar, Head BIS, Ahmedabad informed the attendees that over 10 crores items are already hallmarked as on date, a remarkable achievement. His team presented elaborate details on BIS and Hallmarking.

Mr. Somsundaram PR, Regional CEO, World Gold Council revealed exciting insights on the Gold Jewellery Campaign “You are Gold”.

Mr. Ashok Gautam, IIBX joined the program virtually and explained about various services offered by IIBX.

An informative session on Qualified Jewellers was presented by Mr. Ranjith Singh, BSE. Mr. Mansukh Kothari took to the dais again to shed light on new features of IIJS Premiere 2022. The evening was concluded with an interactive session of Panelists and Members.
