GJSCI Empowers Jewellery SMEs in Maharashtra with Skill and Financial Training

The Gem & Jewellery Skill Council of India (GJSCI) recently organised a series of Skill Development and Financial Training Workshops for jewellery SMEs in Maharashtra, under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) scheme of the MSSIDC, Government of Maharashtra.

Held from 17th to 20th August, the workshops covered Ratnagiri and Kolhapur districts, engaging nearly 200 participants over four days. The sessions in Ratnagiri on 17th and 18th August focused on jewellery designing, alongside financial and digital literacy, equipping SMEs with knowledge on modern design trends, budgeting, digital tools, and government support schemes.

Workshops in Kolhapur on 19th and 20th August emphasised jewellery manufacturing techniques such as gold testing, hallmarking, and appraisals, followed by sessions on financial planning and digital strategies aimed at strengthening business resilience.

Each participant received a certificate of participation, and the programme successfully enhanced both technical and financial capabilities of jewellery SMEs, preparing them to compete and grow sustainably in the evolving market.
