Kay Jewelers Lights Up Hope For St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital

A spectacular drone show lit up the sky above St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, on 29th November, as part of a holiday ad campaign by KAY Jewelers. The show, which featured 500 drones forming various shapes and symbols, was a tribute to the patients, families, and staff of St. Jude, who are fighting against life-threatening paediatric diseases.

The show was broadcasted during NBC’s “Christmas in Rockefeller Center” tree lighting ceremony, where KAY Jewelers was an official sponsor. The ad also highlighted KAY’s longstanding partnership with St. Jude, which has helped the hospital advance its research and treatment of childhood cancer and other catastrophic illnesses.

The drone show, which was the first of its kind at St. Jude, reached 42 stories into the air and displayed meaningful images of KAY, St. Jude, and its patients. One of the images was a gingerbread man, drawn by Tyler, a former St. Jude patient who was present at the event.

The show also conveyed a powerful message of hope and survivorship, as it began with five trees representing the survival rate of childhood cancer in the United States. The smallest tree then grew to become the centerpiece of the show, a fully decorated holiday tree, celebrating the achievements of St. Jude since its opening in 1962.

Bill Brace, KAY President, said, “Inspiring love is at the core of KAY Jewelers. The ‘Christmas in Rockefeller Center’ celebration and our charitable partnership with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital speaks to our brand mission and our commitment to our communities.”
