Kira, part of the Kiran family, has announced a major expansion of its production capacity from 2,600 to 4,000 CVD reactors, cementing its position as the world’s largest grower of lab-grown diamonds (LGDs). With this scale, Kira now produces over 250,000 polished carats every month.
This milestone echoes the vision of Vallabhbhai Lakhani, founder of the Kiran family, whose motto “Har ghar hira, har ghar Kira” embodies the mission to make diamonds accessible, sustainable, and trusted globally.
Kira operates as a fully integrated player across the value chain, from growing to cutting, polishing, and jewellery manufacturing, employing over 10,000 artisans. Its 1 million sq ft Surat facility is powered by 75 MW of solar energy, with plans to scale up to 150 MW. The company is certified by SMETA and SEDEX, representing India’s Make in India initiative on a global stage.
Currently serving more than 4,700 partners worldwide, including manufacturers, designers, and leading retail chains, Kira has offices in Mumbai, Surat, Hong Kong, and New York.
Commenting on the achievement, Rajesh Lakhani, Founding Partner of Kira Diam LLP, said, “Reaching 4,000 reactors is more than a capacity milestone — it is a statement of India’s leadership in the global lab-grown diamond industry. At Kira, we are proud to empower 10,000 Indians, reduce reliance on imports, and deliver scale, trust, and sustainability for partners worldwide.”
