David Kellie, CEO of the Natural Diamond Council (NDC), has announced plans to step down at the end of 2025. The decision follows his role in securing the Luanda Accord, a groundbreaking agreement that brings additional diamond producers on board with funding to promote natural diamonds.
In a post on LinkedIn, Kellie described it as a “personal announcement,” expressing pride in the newly signed accord and gratitude for his time leading the organisation. He committed to staying on through the end of 2025, during which he’ll focus on onboarding new members and roll out a major marketing campaign in the fourth quarter.
Looking ahead, Kellie shared that he intends to enter retirement to “enjoy a life of retirement, spending more time with friends and family, and traveling more.” However, he left the door open for “something exciting” to draw him back.
