Forevermark’s 2020 Virtual Forum Goes High-Tech

Forevermark India is envisioning the biggest ever participation in its Annual Forum, a confluence of its partner jewellers and manufacturers, which will be held entirely on an interactive virtual/digital platform, and experienced across multiple tech interfaces. The Forum is scheduled from 18th to 20th August, and registrations open on 27th July. The theme of this year is ‘Meaningful Tomorrow’.

Speaking to the GJEPC, De Beers India Managing Director Sachin Jain, said, “Over the years, we have created a platform by having this annual forum, which is enriching, uplifting, and future-shaping. We are bringing in technology and an array of speakers to help the industry get ready for the future. We, at De Beers, realised that the need for creating this virtual platform is greater than ever because of the pandemic.”

The big advantage of technology is that instead of the usual visitor number of 500 people, we are now targeting between 5,000 and 8,000 participants, he added. 

To recreate the feel of the physical forum, De Beers will be employing a host of latest and exciting technology including augmented reality and virtual reality among others. It will also have 7 to 8 virtual rooms based on themes such as digital marketing, sustainability, mining, DTC sightholder sales, high-end jewellery, etc.

Forevermark is also planning to replicate the look and feel of the physical ambience of the forums held in the past. “Due to Covid, the use and need of technology has now become a permanent one. This is our attempt to showcase how consumers will look at your brand and your retail.  How the world will be seen through the eyes of consumers.”

The Forum will also unveil the latest consumer research conducted by De Beers in India, which will present consumer sentiment towards diamonds. The study is based on the responses of 850 participants from across India.
