Birdhichand Ghanshyamdas Jewellers: CONTRIBUTING TO THE LOCAL COMMUNITY

Birdhichand Ghanshyamdas Jewellers is one of the oldest and reputed jewellery manufacturers of India established in 1930. Their jewellery tells about the change of taste with time, leaving behind a style that shows creation through achievement. Birdhichand balances Indian art forms with a modern approach by marrying traditional designs with innovative techniques. The house creations are handcrafted and re-interpret centuries-old tradition of art through original designs, contemporary adaptations and edgy creativity using precious and rare gemstones like diamonds, sapphires, rubies and emeralds, etc. Traversing through history and wave of nostalgia, every collection breathes originality and uses finest material thus lending the traditional designs a contemporary touch. Signature collections like Hunar, Adrishya, Aranya, Aks, Amér, Adaa, Delhi Durbar and Rajbari walk through magnificent design themes using modernised versions of yesteryear techniques. The company exports different styles of jewellery all over the world. BG Jewellers has continued to redefine jewellery design and reinforce its leadership in the luxury jewellery market.

CSR Initiatives

CSR initiatives at Birdhichand have benefitted many underprivileged families. Birdhichand is committed to supporting communities where they live and work through charity and donations. For them, contributing to the local community is much more than making money. Hence, CSR activities have been an integral part of their system right from the beginning. BG’s vision is to be a responsible organization with a focus on child health and education, to provide access to healthcare through different initiatives for the less privileged, and a lot more. It is an on-going process to positively impact the lives of the disadvantaged by supporting and engaging in activities that aim to improve their well-being.

Improving the skills and working conditions of craftsmen: During the earlier years, they identified the craftsmen specializing in Kundan and Meenakari and worked to improve their skill and working conditions by providing them modern tools and techniques. Since these workers are located in Jaipur and the surrounding areas of Rajasthan, documentation has been made for geographical identification (G.I Registration) of these artisans to the relevant authority to protect their rights.

Supporting thalassemia patients: They have supported thalassemia-affected children by sponsoring bone marrow transplantation of two affected children, and that has cured them completely and relieved them from further requirement of frequent blood transfusion. BG has also been helping the SOS children village by sponsoring six children every year.

Supporting the needy: BG has been supporting a blind school in Jaipur, helped in carrying out cataract operations at Calgary Eye Hospital, supported Mahaveer Cancer Hospital for the treatment of poor children, and last but not the least, supported for the Keratoplasty of poor patients.
