Tell us more about your journey into the world of jewellery designing. When and why did you join the industry? Are you a first-gen jeweller?

Jewellery has been a part of my world since I was very young — not just as an accessory, but as an art form. My personal journey is that of a first-generation designer. I formally trained in jewellery design from SNDT Mumbai and later honed my styling skills at Milan Fashion Campus. I won my first national award for designing a men’s gold watch when I was just 19 — that moment ignited a fire in me to not only create but also to express emotions through jewellery. It’s been a beautiful blend of passion, art, and entrepreneurship ever since.

As a Jaipur-based brand, how do Jewel Saga’s designs stay rooted in heritage while embracing contemporary influences?

Jaipur is a treasure trove of inspiration — from its royal history to vibrant architecture. At Jewel Saga, we interpret this heritage through a modern lens. Whether it’s the use of traditional meenakari, polki, or temple motifs, we reimagine them with contemporary silhouettes, delicate proportions, and fresh colour palettes. Our goal is to keep the soul of tradition alive while ensuring that every piece feels relevant to the modern woman’s wardrobe.

Tell us more about your concept-to-creation journey.

Every collection begins with a story — a mood, a city, a feeling, or sometimes even a piece of music or art. We immerse ourselves in this inspiration, translating it into sketches, selecting gemstones that echo the emotion, and finally crafting it in gold with our artisans. We usually bring out two major collections annually, along with capsule drops for festive and bridal seasons. Our process is very hands-on, and I personally oversee every step — from design and sampling to final execution.

What are some of the challenges you face when designing jewellery pieces that must meet both artistic and functional standards, such as wearability and comfort?

The challenge lies in the balance. A piece can be visually stunning, but if it’s not comfortable to wear, it loses its purpose. We work closely with our karigars to ensure that the technical execution supports the design. Comfort, weight distribution, flexibility, and secure locks are always top priorities.

What would you consider the USP of Jewel Saga, and how does your brand’s market presence extend both domestically and internationally?

Our USP is our distinctive design language — a blend of femininity, boldness, and intricate craftsmanship. We’re known for our use of French enamel, handpicked gemstones, and a strong emphasis on detailing. While Jaipur is our home, our clients come from across the globe. Our digital presence and celebrity associations have helped us reach international markets too!

Tell us more about the Floret collection.

Floret was born from a desire to create a collection that feels both evergreen and edgy. We took classic floral inspirations and gave them a fresh twist — think sculptural petals, openwork detailing, and gemstone clusters in unexpected colours. The result is a collection that can be worn across generations — elegant for the mother, playful for the daughter. That balance is what defines our design sensibility.

Jewel Saga has garnered attention on major red carpets and runways. What role do celebrity collaborations and fashion partnerships play in shaping the brand’s reputation?

Celebrity collaborations have amplified our reach and helped position Jewel Saga as a design-forward, luxury label. When a piece is worn by a celebrity, it becomes a talking point. Our runway partnerships also give us the freedom to be more experimental, to push boundaries in scale and styling, and to showcase the versatility of our pieces in a fashion-forward context.
