A delegation from the Hupari Chandi Hastkala Vikas Foundation, based in Kolhapur’s Hupari region, visited the Bharat Ratnam Mega Common Facility Centre (CFC) to explore avenues for technology integration in traditional silver jewellery making.
The visiting team comprised Mohan Khot, Rajendra Mali, Vilasrao Jadhav, Jitendra Deshmukh, Chetan Deshpande, Prasad Khot, and Pankaj Deshpande. Their objective was to study the Mega CFC’s infrastructure, design tools, and quality-enhancing capabilities that can benefit silver artisans in their region.
Impressed by the state-of-the-art machinery and support systems at the Mega CFC, the Foundation announced plans to organise a specialised training programme for silver artisans in June 2025. The initiative aims to familiarise artisans with modern tools, contemporary design approaches, and stringent quality benchmarks, helping them become more competitive in the national and international markets.
