GJEPC Deepens Trade Outreach in Romania and Mexico

GJEPC stepped up its international market outreach through engagements with the Romanian and Mexican embassies, seeking to expand business opportunities for Indian jewellery exporters in Eastern Europe and Latin America.

On September 28, Antarpal Singh Sawhney, Regional Chairman, North, and Ashutosh Srivastava, Regional Director, North, met H.E. Ms. Sena Latif, Ambassador of Romania, and Mr. Nicu-Nicolae Grecu, Consul General, in New Delhi. Discussions focused on establishing an India Pavilion at the Pasarela International Fashion Festival 2026, where India is the Country of Honour. The proposed participation will highlight silver jewellery, lightweight gold jewellery and gemstone fashion jewellery, with the Embassy offering support for B2B connections with Romanian retailers and trade networks. GJEPC also invited Romanian buyers, brands and designers to IIJS Signature, Mumbai.

On September 29, the GJEPC team met H.E. Mr. Pedro Blanco Pérez, Ambassador-designate of Mexico, Ms. Claudia Keller Lapayre, Deputy Head of Mission, and Ms. Chetna Khanna of the Embassy’s Economic, Trade & Tourism Promotion Department. The discussions covered India’s strengths in silver jewellery, cut and polished diamonds, precious gemstones and fashion jewellery, alongside opportunities to connect Indian exporters with Mexican buyers, retailers and brands. GJEPC invited Mexican industry stakeholders to IIJS Signature and sought support in developing a dedicated Mexican buyer delegation for IGJS Jaipur.
