The SPARKLE gemstone skilling project, a collaborative initiative by the GJEPC’s Indian Institute of Gems & Jewellery (IIGJ) Jaipur, the Jewellers Association Jaipur (JAJ), the Sitapura Gems and Jewellery Industry Association (SGJIA), and Jaipur Jewellery Show (JJS), has commenced its second batch. Thirty candidates have been selected for this phase of the program.
These individuals will undergo two months of intensive training in gemstone cutting and polishing. JJS is sponsoring the training costs and stipends for the candidates, while JAJ is providing the raw materials necessary for the training. Following the completion of the program, JAJ and SGJIA will facilitate the placement of the graduates within the gem and jewellery industry.
The SPARKLE program has already demonstrated significant success, with all 23 candidates from the first batch securing employment within the industry. This achievement underscores the program’s effectiveness in addressing the industry’s need for skilled gemstone professionals.
