London-headquartered diamond miner Gem Diamonds recovered a 163.91-carat yellow diamond at Letšeng diamond mine in Lesotho on 22nd June 2023.
This is the company’s second rough diamond over 100 carats recovered in 2023. It had unearthed a 122-carat Type II white diamond at Letšeng in Q1 2023.
Last year, Gem Diamonds had recovered four diamonds greater than 100 carats. Large, high value diamonds greater than 100 carats from the mine typically account for 70-80% of the company’s annual revenue.
