Bharat Diamond Bourse Welcomes KP Delegates

Bharat Diamond Bourse (BDB) hosted visiting delegates attending the Kimberley Process (KP) Intersessional in Mumbai. The delegates received a ceremonial welcome before touring the BDB facility, the world’s largest functional diamond exchange. The visit highlighted the KP’s role in supporting responsible sourcing, legitimate diamond trade, and livelihoods linked to the natural diamond industry.
Welcoming the delegation, Mehul Shah, Vice President, BDB, underscored the importance of global cooperation through the Kimberley Process and invited mining economies to utilise the India Diamond Trading Centre (IDTC) within BDB for rough diamond viewings and trade interactions.
Shah noted that closer engagement between mining companies, manufacturers and the large network of buyers operating within BDB could improve trade efficiencies, reduce transaction-related travel costs, and create stronger market linkages for rough diamond producers.
