Coral to moonstone, Hindman Auctions presents jewelry by Tony Duquette, Christopher Walling, and Nicholas Varney

To be auctioned in Palm Beach, Florida, the 116 lots include bright statement jewelry by artists who are bold and unusual

February 2, 2021: Taking place on February 9, 2021 at their Palm Beach, Florida location, Chicago-based Hindman Auctions’ latest sale will feature 116 lots with vibrant statement jewelry from renowned designers such as Tony Duquette, Christopher Walling, Nicholas Varney, de Grisogono, Evelyn Clothier, and more. With a range of distinct pieces, the sale is full of brightly hued jewelry for the bold collector. 

Tony Duquette multigem and coral brooch

Jewelry designed by legendary artist and designer Tony Duquette – known for his interiors, stage settings, costumes, jewelry, and more – will be among the standout pieces offered in the sale. A magnificent Duquette moonstone and opal pendant/brooch is estimated at $5,000-7,000. Another lively piece is a multigem and coral brooch with a blue fluorite at the center surrounded by green citrines (estimate is $6,000-$8,000).

A number of pieces by influential jewelry designer Christopher Walling will be offered in the auction, including a cultured biwa pearl, diamond, and sapphire bracelet (estimate is $4,000-6,000). Additional pieces by Walling include a bright coral bead necklace and a cultured biwa pearl, blue chalcedony, and diamond brooch (estimates are $2,500-3,500 and $1,500-2500 respectively).

The sophisticated yet whimsical designs of Nicholas Varney will also be featured in the sale. One outstanding design is Varney’s abalone, diamond, colored diamond, and sapphire Bird of Paradise brooch (estimate is $6,000-8,000). A multigem ‘brick’ bracelet is another striking piece that consists of three rows of links containing cultured biwa pearls surrounded by round brilliant cut diamonds and colored diamonds with an elongated opal for the clasp (estimate is $6,000-8,000).

Other notable pieces in the auction include a pair of Evelyn Clothier cultured baroque pearl and diamond flamingo brooches (estimate is $3,000-5,000); a pair of Elizabeth Locke yellow gold, intaglio, and cultured pearl earclips (estimate is $2,000-3,000); a de Grisogono brown leather and diamond ‘Allegra’ bracelet (estimate is $4,000-6,000); an Angela Pintaldi multistrand emerald bead necklace (estimate is $4,000-6,000); and a pair of JAR, white resin arum earclips (estimate is $3,000-5,000).

Bidding for the auction will begin at 10am ET. Bidders will be able to participate via absentee bid, by phone, or live online through the Digital Bid Room.
