Diamond Ring Among Bonhams’ Top 10 Lots in Record H1 Sales

A diamond ring proved to be one of the standout lots in auction house Bonhams’ record-breaking first-half sales of 2023. The Leviev Diamond ring achieved a staggering price of $2,700,375 during a single-owner sale in New York as part of The Perfect Jewellery Box: Jewels from an Impressive South California Collection.

The Leviev Diamond Ring’s sale further contributed to Bonhams’ global success, as the auction house achieved its best-ever first-half year results, surpassing $550 million in sales from January to June 2023. The Leviev Diamond Ring secured the 9th place among the top 10 lots in the first half of the year.

Bonhams’ highest selling lot of the first half of 2023 was Tipu Sultan’s bedchamber sword, which sold for £14 million ($18 million) in May, achieving a new auction world record for both an Islamic and Indian object – and for a sword.
