Financing & Market Access Top Agenda of GJEPC & Exim Bank’s Jaipur Visit

A joint delegation from the GJEPC and Exim Bank visited Jaipur’s gemstone and jewellery manufacturing units on 12th December to assess the sector’s strengths and challenges, and to formulate strategies for increasing exports from the region.

The visit aimed to gain firsthand insights into the operational landscape of local manufacturers. The delegation sought suggestions from industry players on how to enhance export performance and address existing hurdles.

The team also toured the Indian Institute of Gems & Jewellery (IIGJ) Jaipur and its associated laboratory. This visit focused on understanding the current state of skilling and certification within the industry, and developing a roadmap for capacity building, geared towards export growth.

A meeting with prominent local industry associations included Shri Arvind Gupta, President of the Sitapura Gems and Jewellery Industry Association, and Shri Neeraj Lunawat, Honorary Secretary of the Jewellers Association Jaipur.
