The Gemological Institute of America (GIA) has announced that it will be offering need-based scholarships year-round to prospective students in the US. These scholarships are designed to help students achieve their educational goals and make the institute’s globally recognised diploma and certificate programs financially accessible. The scholarships are available to those who qualify, and applicants must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to be considered.
In addition to need-based scholarships, GIA will also be accepting merit-based scholarship applications from prospective US and international students from 15th April 2023, until 15th May 2023. These scholarships are available for classes starting from July to December 2023, and applications for scholarships for classes starting in 2024 will be accepted from August 2023.
Duncan Pay, the GIA Senior Vice President Of Education And Chief Academic Officer, said, “One of the most important ways we ensure consumer trust and confidence in the gem and jewellery industry is by making our education accessible to students and professionals throughout the supply chain to help them improve their knowledge and skills.”
