A significant milestone for the gem and jewellery industry in Amritsar was marked on Wednesday, 18th December 2024, with the organisation of a mega export awareness seminar. The event, hosted by the Akhil Bhartiya Swarnkar Sangh (ABSS) in collaboration with the GJEPC, aimed to capitalise on the recent notification of the Amritsar Customs port for jewellery export appraisals.
The seminar brought together over 250 jewellers, merchants, and manufacturers from the region. Distinguished guests, including GJEPC Chairman Mr. Vipul Shah and GJEPC Vice-Chairman Mr. Kirit Bhansali graced the occasion to address the gathering.
Mr. Vipul Shah, Chairman of GJEPC, noted that the notification of Amritsar’s Customs port is not just a logistical achievement; it’s an opportunity to showcase the world-renowned jadau jewellery craftsmanship of this region. He outlined the Council’s various initiatives to support exporters, including the IIJS shows, India Jewellery Park, and FTAs with key markets.
Mr. Kirit Bhansali, Vice-Chairman of GJEPC, echoed Shah’s sentiments, encouraging participants to leverage the new facility to expand their global reach. He assured the industry of the Council’s continued support.
The seminar concluded with addresses from other dignitaries, including Mr. Ashok Seth, Regional Chairman – North, GJEPC. The event provided a platform for industry stakeholders to connect, share insights, and explore new avenues for growth. As Amritsar’s jewellery industry embraces this new era of export opportunities, the GJEPC remains committed to empowering local businesses and contributing to India’s global trade ambitions.
