A four-day Customs Training Program for Customs Appraisers commenced on 4th November at the Air Cargo Complex in Kolkata. Organised by GJEPC, the program aims to enhance the skills and expertise of Customs officials in the field of gems and jewellery.
The training session was inaugurated by the Principal Commissioner of Customs (Airport & ACC) Mr. Shivaji Dange, IRS, along with the Joint Commissioner Mr. S. Mondal, IRS, joined by other officials. Mr. Pankaj Parekh, Eastern Regional Chairman, GJEPC, delivered the opening remarks.
In his address, Mr. Parekh stressed the importance of such training programs in empowering Customs officials to efficiently discharge their duties. He highlighted the need for smooth and efficient export operations and expressed confidence that this training would equip the participants with the necessary skills to achieve this goal.
A total of 22 Customs officials are participating in the program, which will conclude on 7th November 2024. The program is being conducted by experienced faculty members who will cover a range of topics relevant to Customs procedures and regulations related to the gems and jewellery sector.
