GJEPC, in collaboration with Economic Laws Practice (ELP), held a webinar titled “US Tariff Challenges: A Strategic Webinar for Indian Gems & Jewellery Exporters” to address growing concerns over shifting US trade policies. The session drew over 320 attendees from across the gems and jewellery industry, underscoring strong interest in understanding tariff implications on exports.
Opening the webinar, Mr. Sabyasachi Ray, Executive Director, GJEPC, explained the structure of US tariffs and outlined their likely impact on Indian exporters. He stressed the need for industry players to stay updated and take proactive steps to mitigate risks.
ELP experts Mr. Sanjay Notani, Mr. Parthasarathi Jha, and Mr. Supreme Kothari presented an in-depth analysis of the current US tariff regime. They broke down the segment-wise effects on the Indian sector and proposed legal and strategic responses to help businesses adapt.
The Q&A segment saw exporters raise queries on compliance, documentation, and future trade developments. Speakers also shared insights into possible US policy changes and how they might affect India’s trade position.
