GJEPC, in association with the Income Tax Department, organised a seminar on “Export Promotion Mission – Boost Gems & Jewellery Exports and Secure Payments” in New Delhi on 16 September 2026. The programme also featured an awareness session on the New Income Tax Act, 2025 and Income Tax Rules, 2026.
Antarpal Singh Sawhney, Regional Chairman – North, GJEPC, welcomed the dignitaries and participants and highlighted the importance of risk management, secure payment mechanisms, regulatory awareness and technology in supporting export growth.
Aman Preet, IRS, Addl. Director of Income Tax (I&CI)-2, Delhi, appreciated GJEPC’s efforts to facilitate the jewellery trade. Officials from the Income Tax Department explained key provisions and compliance requirements under the new tax framework.
Amlendu Bipul Mishra, AGM, ECGC, outlined ECGC’s role and insurance policies relevant to the jewellery trade, including claim settlement and protection against export payment and commercial and political risks. Mr. R.S. Virk, Founder, Modern Business Equipments & Services Pvt. Ltd. (Spectrum), discussed the role of modern machinery and technology in improving operational efficiency and quality.
Ashutosh Srivastava, Regional Director – North, GJEPC, briefed members on the Council’s initiatives and encouraged participation in programmes including the upcoming Uzbekistan Show, IGJS Jaipur and specialised Export-Import Training Programmes.
The seminar was attended by more than 60 participants, including representatives of the Greater Kailash Jewellers Association, Dariba Jewellers Association, Maliwara Jewellers Association, East Delhi Jewellers Association and Delhi Jewellers Association. An interactive Q&A session addressed taxation, export insurance, payment security, machinery and technology.
