The recently concluded Vicenzaoro Voice in September spotlighted on malachite, an opaque gemstone that comes in a multitude shades – from light, bright green to deep and dark green, sometimes bordering on black. Used as a pigment for centuries, the gemstone with its characteristic concentric bands found favour with ancient Egyptians, who wore it in their jewellery to protect themselves from negative energy.
The contemporary creations empowered by malachite and supported with diamonds and other gemstones are endearing and desirable.
