In his speech, Shri Bhansali said, “I’m sure each of you is excited to start a new chapter in your life. You are joining the workforce at an opportune time as the industry is experiencing rapid growth, thanks mainly to the support of the Government.

“The Government recognises the industry’s contribution in terms of exports and employment and is committed to supporting it through trade-friendly policies. With the signing of Free Trade Agreements with UAE and Australia, exports of gems and jewellery from the country are expected to receive a further boost.

“The industry is going through a transformational phase. GJEPC will be setting up Gem Bourse in Jaipur, Jewellery Park in Mumbai, and Common Facility Centres across major gem & jewellery clusters in India. There are vast opportunities that this industry offers, and you are the ones who will drive the industry forward in the future.”

The IIGJ award function took place in Jaipur after a Covid-induced gap of more than four years.
