The pieces exude a captivating blend of traditional and contemporary aesthetics, celebrating the rich heritage of Indian jewellery.
Van Cleef’s New Alhambra Line
Since its creation, the Alhambra collection has stood out as an emblem of Van Cleef & Arpels, lending itself to several beautiful variations intended to highlight particular moments and materials. The motifs have since featured on both a Vintage Alhambra bracelet and long necklace, and the Sweet Alhambra watch, drawing on the soft glow of rose gold with the warm hue of carnelian.
The recent Alhambra 20-motif long necklace is rendered in rose gold, guilloché rose gold, carnelian and diamond. The reversible ring, pair of stud earrings and matching five-motif bracelet form part of the capsule offering. The Sweet Alhambra watch in rose gold with guilloché rose gold and carnelian sports a Swiss quartz movement.
A material dear to the maison, this ornamental stone elevates the pieces with its red-orange nuances. Meanwhile, rose gold unveils tender, shifting reflections thanks to a guilloché effect, a signature of the collection since 2018. “The sunbeam-like streaks adorning the motif impart a subtle relief to the surface of the precious metal, sparking an intense whirlwind of light that captivates the gaze.”
A variety of chalcedony, carnelian is associated with the microcrystalline quartz family. “Van Cleef & Arpels carefully selects only a minuscule fraction of rough stones to offer the most exquisite materials and the most vivid colours, ranging from deep red to shiny orange.” Lapidaries create harmonious compositions from these stones, perfectly matched according to hue and opacity. The maison also strives to achieve the highest level of polishing in order to highlight the beauty of each stone.
Chaumet: Liens Évidence
With their connecting element similar to a streamlined, suspended bridge, Liens Évidence creations from Chaumet are distinguished by its pure graphic design. “Timeless and universal, they characterise the sincerity of a relationship, the evidence of two fates united.” Designed for both women and men, the Liens Évidence is a modern collection.
To supplement the existing styles in rose gold with pavé diamonds, Chaumet has added a new mid-size version to the large and small models. All three styles are also available in white gold with pavé diamonds.
Chaumet enriches the collection with bold new pieces: in gold featuring brushed or polished finish, or set with diamonds, the openwork attachment of the link is given a precious enhancement. The architectural lines allow the ring designs to be translated across unisex pendants.
Revisiting the crossed link motif in a playful way, the Jeux de Liens pendant is available in a more voluminous form, inspired by the symbol of infinity. Chaumet repeats the design in white gold and calibrated sapphires. This precious and elegant version lends its design to a wide ring, resembling a bandeau.
Additionally, the sunburst gold medallions echo the Chaumet savoir-faire in gold. From the pendant ring to the central motif and the edge, each detail of the medium and large medallions is set with diamonds, adding more sparkle to the pieces.
Her Story: Keepsakes
Beloved motifs of India such as marigold flowers, kites, elephants, birds and minarets are brought to life by the Mumbai-based brand Her Story in its newest line, Keepsakes.
The designs are crafted in 18-karat rose-gold and accented with coloured enamel and uncut or polki diamonds. Inspired by a woman who holds a deep connection to her roots no matter where she may go, this collection is characterised by jewels that celebrate nostalgia through motifs of India.
Polki diamonds are offset by white diamonds and coloured enamel in delightful combinations that mimic the festivities. Tiny motifs are rendered across earrings, bangles, bracelets, link necklaces, two-finger rings, slim and open band rings. Some of the pieces transform from a necklace into a bracelet, offering multi-wear options.
Miniature charms resembling jharoka or little windows, paper boats and kites can be added onto link and pavé-set white diamond necklaces.
Candy stripes and bright colours embellishing the motifs borrow from the famed Rajasthani leheriya tie-and-dye fabric patterns, while monochrome enamel, striped enamels and pavé diamonds outfit some of the iterations from the Keepsakes collection.
