Natural Diamond Council Announces World Diamond Day on April 8

The Natural Diamond Council (NDC) has announced the launch of World Diamond Day, to be observed globally on April 8, 2026.

The initiative aims to bring together industry stakeholders and consumers to highlight the significance of natural diamonds through personal stories and experiences. Participants are encouraged to share photographs or short videos on social media reflecting what natural diamonds represent to them, using the hashtags #WorldDiamondDay and #NaturalDiamonds.

Richa Singh, Managing Director, India & Middle East, Natural Diamond Council, said, “World Diamond Day is really about people, and the moments that matter most to them. Whether you have purchased your own diamond, have gifted one, or simply have a piece of jewellery that holds a core memory, we want to hear from you.”

She added, “We encourage everyone, across the industry and beyond, to post a photo or a short video that captures what natural diamonds mean to them. Natural diamonds have an enduring value that goes far beyond their beauty, and this is the day we celebrate that together, as one community.”

According to the NDC, the day is intended to serve as a collective moment rather than a formal campaign, with content shaped by individuals, businesses and communities worldwide. Suggested themes include personal milestones such as engagements and anniversaries, the journey of a diamond from origin to finished jewellery, and the broader social and environmental impact associated with the sector.

The NDC said the initiative also seeks to underscore the enduring nature of natural diamonds, positioning them as symbols of longevity and emotional value in contrast to fast-moving consumer trends.

Industry participants, including organisations and retailers, are encouraged to support the initiative by engaging their teams and audiences. A digital toolkit with optional resources and guidelines has been made available on the NDC’s website.

World Diamond Day will mark the first global observance dedicated to sharing narratives around natural diamonds across both industry and consumer segments.
