Rio Tito’s diamond production grew 24% to 3.33 million carats in the first nine months of 2022. The company’s Q3 diamond output rose 43% to 1.192 million carats year-on-year, and grew 4% versus Q2 2022 due to the benefit of its increased share of production since taking 100% ownership of Diavik from November 2021. At present, Rio Tinto is exploring for diamonds in Canada and Angola. Its full-year guidance remained unchanged at 4.5 to 5.0 million carats.
