The latest phase of specialised gemmology training for newly posted Precious Cargo Customs Clearance Centre (PCCCC) officers in Mumbai has concluded, continuing the Council’s effort to strengthen technical capacity at key customs points. In this latest batch, 18 Customs officers along with the Deputy Commissioner of Customs participated in the training conducted from 10 to 15 November 2025.
This session follows the September and October rounds in which 45 officers completed the GJEPC-GIA training module. Offered pro bono by GJEPC under its MoU with GIA, the programme deepened officers’ practical understanding of gemstone identification and examination procedures essential for accurate import and export assessments.
GJEPC also delivered a focused session on the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme, giving officers a clear overview of KP protocols, documentation, and compliance expectations.
