GJEPC Holds MSME Chaupal to Boost Export Readiness Among Zaveri Bazaar Jewellers

GJEPC organised a special MSME Chaupal themed “3Es: Educate, Empower and Export” for members of the Zaveri Bazaar jewellery community in Mumbai, aimed at creating awareness about export opportunities and the support available for MSMEs and aspiring exporters.

The session brought together jewellery manufacturers, traders and entrepreneurs to familiarise them with India’s export ecosystem and GJEPC’s initiatives designed to help businesses enter and expand in international markets.

Addressing the participants, Archana Pandey, Assistant Manager – MSME Dept., GJEPC, outlined the Council’s role in promoting India’s gem and jewellery exports and serving as a bridge between the industry and the government. She explained how the Council facilitates exporters, expands international market access, and supports the growth of the sector through a range of export promotion initiatives.

The programme also highlighted GJEPC’s handholding efforts for new exporters through government-backed initiatives such as Districts as Export Hubs (DEH), Niryat Disha and Niryat Protsahan. Participants were briefed on the opportunities available under these programmes and the structured support provided to help businesses become export-ready and access overseas markets.

The session covered GJEPC membership benefits, MSME schemes, export readiness, district-level export opportunities, and the role of IJEX, Dubai, in connecting Indian exporters with global buyers. It also explored avenues for MSMEs to expand their presence in international markets.

The interactive Chaupal offered practical insights into export procedures, government support mechanisms and market access initiatives, equipping Zaveri Bazar members with a better understanding of the resources available to help them transition from domestic business to global trade.

Through initiatives such as the 3Es: Educate, Empower and Export, GJEPC continues to strengthen engagement with MSMEs by building export awareness and supporting the next generation of Indian jewellery exporters.
