GJEPC organised a seminar on “The Key to Successful Jewellery Exports: B2B E-Commerce and Quality Certification” on 22 August 2026 in New Delhi, highlighting the growing role of digital platforms and internationally recognised certification in expanding India’s jewellery exports.
Antarpal Singh Sawhney, Regional Chairman – North, GJEPC, emphasised the importance of B2B e-commerce, digitalisation and quality certification in strengthening the global competitiveness of Indian jewellery exporters, particularly in the Gulf and European markets.
Ashok Seth, Co-Convener, Regional Committee – North, GJEPC, outlined the benefits of GJEPC membership and reiterated the Council’s continued support for jewellers seeking to expand their export business.
Deepak Sarda, Regional Head (Gujarat), Alibaba.com, presented insights into how B2B e-commerce can help jewellery businesses connect with international buyers and extend their global reach. Mehadi Hussain, Branch Manager, HRD Antwerp, highlighted the role of internationally recognised quality certification in building buyer confidence and supporting exports to the Gulf and European markets.
Ashutosh Srivastava, Regional Director – North, GJEPC, briefed participants on the Council’s activities and services and encouraged members to make greater use of GJEPC initiatives, including the Export Mentorship Programme (EMP) and specialised export-import training programmes aimed at strengthening members’ understanding and capabilities in international trade.
An interactive Q&A session followed the presentations, with participants engaging with experts from Alibaba.com and HRD Antwerp on issues related to digital commerce, certification and international market access.
More than 85 jewellers and industry representatives attended the seminar, which concluded with a networking dinner. Participants appreciated GJEPC Delhi’s initiative and its focus on practical avenues for digitalisation, quality assurance and expanding India’s gems and jewellery exports.
