GIA Unveils $2 Million In Merit-based Scholarships For 2024

The Gemological Institute of America (GIA) has opened the scholarship application period for merit-based scholarships. Prospective US and international students can apply for scholarships until 30th September 2023. The scholarships awarded for this cycle can be used for courses or programs through 30th June, 2024, including for the revamped Graduate Jeweler program that is coming in 2024.

GIA’s diploma and certificate programs are globally recognised and provide professionals with the skills needed to succeed in the gem and jewellery industry. There are need-based and merit-based scholarships available for those who qualify. The full list of GIA scholarships is available here: GIA.edu/scholarships

Duncan Pay, GIA’s Senior Vice President Of Education and Chief Academic Officer, said, “We are committed to supporting our students and helping them achieve their dreams which is why GIA awarded $2 million in scholarships this year. Through our scholarship programs, we are able to provide financial assistance to students who demonstrate a passion for gemmology or the jewellery arts and a commitment to excellence.”

GIA will accept applications through 30th September, 2023 for courses or programs that start between 1st January and 30th June, 2024. Need-based scholarships are accessible year-round for prospective U.S. students and require a completed Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

GIA has awarded more than $12 million in scholarships since 2015, helping more than 2,500 students study at GIA schools around the world and through online education programs.
