GJEPC organised a special edition of its “Chaupal – 3Es: Educate, Empower and Export” initiative for members of the Zaveri Bazaar jewellery community in Mumbai on 31 October 2026.
The session aimed to familiarise jewellery manufacturers, traders and aspiring exporters with India’s gem and jewellery export ecosystem, government support schemes and GJEPC initiatives designed to help MSMEs expand into international markets.
Mithlesh Pandey, Senior Director – Membership, GJEPC, highlighted the Council’s position as a link between the industry and the Government. He outlined how GJEPC supports exporters through international market access, export facilitation and various industry development initiatives.
A key focus was the Council’s efforts to guide aspiring exporters through government-backed programmes, including Districts as Export Hubs (DEH), Niryat Disha and Niryat Protsahan. Participants were briefed on how these initiatives can help entrepreneurs build export readiness and explore opportunities in overseas markets.
The discussion covered the benefits of GJEPC membership, MSME schemes and government support available to the sector, export procedures and handholding mechanisms for new exporters. The role of IJEX, Dubai, in connecting Indian jewellery businesses with international buyers was also highlighted.
The interactive session gave Zaveri Bazaar members an overview of the support available to help them move from domestic trade towards international business.
