IGI Certifies World’s Largest Polished Lab-Grown Diamond, At 30.18 Carats

The International Gemological Institute (IGI) analysed and graded a 30.18-carat emerald-cut laboratory-grown diamond (LGD), the world’s largest polished LGD to date.

Produced by Ethereal Green Diamond, LLP the 30.18-carat LGD, named the “Pride of India”, is the first polished lab-grown diamond to exceed 30 carats. This breakthrough comes on the heels of record-setting 27.27-carat and 20.24-carat stones, analysed and graded by IGI in May.

The “Pride of India” LGD will be on display at Ethereal Green Diamond’s booth at JCK Las Vegas.

Grown using the Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) process, the “Pride of India” was graded to have H colour, VS2 clarity. The type IIa rough crystal from which it was fashioned took approximately four weeks to grow.

Hirav Anil Virani, Managing Director, Ethereal Green Diamond, headquartered in Mumbai, informed that the company plans to continue creating and certifying such exceptional record-setting diamonds. Tehmasp Printer, Managing Director of IGI India, said: “Constant research in developing methods and technology to protect the interest of the end consumer has been the utmost priority at IGI. Our team is continually in search of methods to ensure such spectacular creations are graded with rectitude & precision.”
