Lugano Jewelry, a US-based luxury jewellery house known for its high jewellery and one-of-a-kind creations, has been acquired by investment firm Middle West Partners and a group of the company’s longtime clients. The transaction was completed on 30 September 2026 following Lugano’s restructuring process. The financial terms were not disclosed.
The acquisition expands Middle West Partners’ presence in the jewellery sector. The firm also owns David Webb, the New York-based jewellery brand it acquired in April 2025.
Lugano filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in November 2025 and entered a court-supervised asset sale process. Enhanced Retail Funding, a division of Gordon Brothers, initially acquired the assets before Middle West Partners and the client investors purchased the operating business.
Lugano will operate under the name Lugano Jewelry, replacing its former name, Lugano Diamonds & Jewelry. Josh Gaynor, who served as interim CEO from May 2025, has been appointed chief executive and will join the company’s board.
Lugano will retain its headquarters and jewellery workshop in Newport Beach, California. Its four boutiques in Newport Beach, Aspen, Ocala and Miami will remain open, along with its travelling boutique serving clients on the equestrian circuit.
